SSC CGL Tier I cut-off marks

Category-wise cut-offs from the Staff Selection Commission's own result notices. Marks are normalised across shifts and out of 200. Tier I only shortlists candidates for Tier II, which decides the final merit. SSC publishes separate lists: all other posts (the one most candidates need), Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Statistical Investigator Gr-II and, until 2023, Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer.

    Latest (CGLE 2025): UR 136.40 · OBC 130.37 · EWS 127.42 · SC 115.03 · ST 106.39 for all other posts.

The 2022 exam had many more vacancies than other years, so far more candidates were shortlisted for Tier II and the cut-off for all other posts was much lower. The JSO list printed no UR cut-off.

    How to use these numbers

Cut-offs move with the number of vacancies and the difficulty of the shifts, so plan for the recent level plus a margin rather than the lowest year. A score 10–15 marks above the latest cut-off for your category gives room for a harder shift.

Tier I has 100 questions in 60 minutes: 2 marks for each correct answer and 0.5 deducted for each wrong one. For example, 78 correct and 10 wrong gives 156 − 5 = 151, while 78 correct and 22 wrong gives only 145, so accuracy matters as much as speed.

Abbreviations: ESM ex-servicemen; OH, HH and VH orthopedically, hearing and visually handicapped; PwD-Others other persons with disabilities. A dash means SSC printed no cut-off for that category in that list. Shortlisted counts under UR leave out candidates of other categories who qualified at the UR cut-off; SSC counts them in their own categories. The minimum qualifying marks were 30% for UR, 25% for OBC and EWS and 20% for others.

Figures are copied from the official notices linked above (2021–2023 from the Commission's earlier site, ssc.nic.in). If SSC revises a result, the revised notice prevails.
